Courting success
Basketball player Sanai Green ’26 is a standout at Steward, and she also plays for Elevate Elite 16U 3SSB in the summer, a team that competes on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. This team is sponsored by Adidas and only 34 select programs nationwide are invited to compete on the circuit. This summer, Sanai’s team won the National Championship of the 3SSB circuit in the 16U division! Her performance on the circuit earned her an invitation to the Adidas All-American Camp in California, which recognizes the top 60 players on the 3SSB Circuit from 17U-15U divisions.

“It was awesome playing and winning with my team after the hard work we put in during practice,” said Sanai. “On the first day of practice, everyone shared their goals and at least every person said ‘Win Adidas.’ When we came out on top it was an amazing feeling.” At the end of the camp, Sanai and her teammates met [Atlanta Hawks basketball player] Trae Young and were the first to get his newly released basketball shoes. I was so glad to be a part of all of this!”

Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Kara Bacile said, “It was really special to watch Sanai’s team win the 3SSB 16U title this summer and to see her compete at such a high level. Watching the games, you would have no clue she was playing a grade level up, making her younger than most of her opponents. Sanai is a rare talent and her work ethic separates her from other athletes in her category.”
