Standout Spartan: Efton Reid '20

Congratulations to Efton Reid ’20, a basketball standout at Wake Forest University, where he has averaged 9.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 27.6 minutes per game this season. A recent article in The Roanoke Times described some of the challenges that Mr. Reid has experienced throughout his life and the determination that he has exhibited both on and off the court.

Mr. Reid, who spent one year each at Louisiana State University and Gonzaga University before landing at Wake Forest, was a top athlete at Steward. As a varsity player, he reached 1,000 career points and earned first-team, all-state VISAA DII honors. In addition, he was a five-star recruit coming out of high school — the highest ranking a player can get!
