When it comes to generosity, our
Parents Association volunteers are top Spartans! The PA strengthens and supports The Steward School through fundraisers, social events large and small, the Parent Speaker Series, Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week … and inimitable school spirit!
Every Steward parent is automatically a member of the PA; dues are not required to participate, and new volunteers are always welcome. 2024-25 Parents Association President Betsy Kersey (parent of Ellie ’27 and Lilly ’30) said, “The PA is successful because it’s a true team effort: We meet to exchange ideas, plan and attend events, and share new ways to sprinkle blue-and-gold magic throughout Steward. Plus, we have a lot of fun!”
Parents interested in volunteering are invited to contact Development Associate
Amy Sherman,
sign up to lend a hand at school events, or
attend a PA meeting. “Parents can volunteer as much or as little as they wish,” added Mrs. Kersey. “This is a terrific way for parents to meet each other and explore all that Steward offers.”

Cause for Celebration
During the 2023-24 academic year, the Parents Association was led by President
Alden Rice (mother of
Braylan ’25). Mrs. Rice and a team of volunteers worked hard to support the school community. Thanks to the PA’s generosity, Lower Schoolers can now enjoy a super-fun turf field on the playground; Middle School artists can explore their creative expression at new art tables and chairs; and Spartans of all ages can innovate using industrial-grade printers in the
Bryan Innovation Lab.
In addition, an astonishing $47,500 was raised for the Annual Fund at the 2024 Parents Association Gala and Auction during the Raise the Shield portion of the festive evening. In all, the PA grossed over $165,000 during the 2023-24 academic year through fundraisers and events to support our Spartans.
