Congratulations to Controller Dena Dickson, recipient of the National Business Officers Association (NBOA) 2023-24 Professional Achievement Award. The award recognizes the invaluable contributions made by independent school business, finance, and operations staff. Ms. Dickson, who has served at Steward for 11 years, was given the award during a surprise presentation during the January faculty and staff meeting on campus.
Head of School Dan Frank, who presented the award, lauded Ms. Dickson’s dedication to the school and her role.
“Dena has an extraordinary work ethic, being one of the first to arrive and last to leave in the administrative offices,” he said. “Her professionalism, accounting, and business knowledge are unmatched at most schools. Her ability to tackle any project — whether in finance, crisis management, compliance, facility management — highlights how integral she is to the success of business operations at Steward.”
Ms. Dickson accepted the award amid a round of applause (and lots of cheers) from faculty and staff.
