Standout Spartan: Fopé Alasi ’30

The Steward School
A love of acting leads to a special role
Fopé Alasi ’30 loves acting a lot — he’s been at it for six years!

“It started as something fun, and over time, I’ve grown to love performing,” he said. Fopé recently shared his acting talent in the role of Harry Potter for an ad promoting the Forbidden Forest “Harry Potter” movie premiere in Leesburg, Va. The Forbidden Forest, an outdoor, immersive experience, is billed as a “nighttime woodland trail experience filled with magical creatures and wizarding wonders from the ‘Harry Potter’ films.”

“It was amazing to be part of something that big and bring a character to life for the audience,” said Fopé.

Fopé auditioned for the lead role and was selected out of 45 people. He recalled, “It was a tough process, but I gave it my all, and getting picked was a huge honor. What I love most about acting is showcasing my talent to the fullest.” As his parents, Kay and Tosin Alasi, said, “It was a proud moment for our family to witness his hard work and passion come to fruition. This opportunity highlights the values of commitment and excellence that The Steward School fosters in its students.”

Fopé is a dedicated member of Steward’s soccer, baseball, and basketball teams. “I love playing soccer the most,” he noted. “The best thing about being a Spartan is the loving community and strong traditions that bring everyone together.”
