Clips for Cancer Featured on WRIC-8, WWBT-12, and Macaroni Kid
The Steward School
Inspiring event brings together community
Steward’s tenth annual Clips for Cancer event, organized by the school’s Cancer Awareness Club, was featured in the February 21 broadcast of WRIC-8 News. It was also included on the Macaroni Kid website and in WWBT-12's March 11 Acts of Kindness feature. Twenty volunteers had their hair cut or heads shaved to raise money and awareness for cancer.
Professional stylists volunteered to cut hair alongside teachers who volunteered to shave heads at the event. The hair was donated to Planet Hair, an organization that makes wigs for children affected by cancer. The event also raised nearly $4,000 to benefit the ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation.
